Building Hours
Monday to Friday
All main doors of the building are open, and students may enter through the main entrance on St. Patrick Street or by the back entrance from McCaul Street via the patio until 1600 hours.
Saturday
On Saturdays, only the main door on St. Patrick Street is open. Entrance to and exit from the building via the front door is under the control of the receptionist.
Sunday
Students may enter the building from 0700 to 2200 hours daily by using their student ID cards. Please be prepared to show your identification card to Security staff upon request. The building is closed to students at all other times.

Students may use the lab from 0700 to 2300 hours daily. When the lab is locked, contact the Security Guard for access. You must show your student ID card.
The Michener Institute is closed Sundays, statutory holidays, and during Christmas break (except LRC and Computer Lab as indicated above).
Emergency Closure & Cancellations
In the event of an emergency requiring the official closing of Michener (including severe weather conditions), Michener will broadcast notice of the closing, starting at 6:00am on:
- CFRB 1010, CFTR 680 News, Mix 99.9FM, CBC Radio 99.1FM, CityTV and CablePulse 24
- Notice of the closing will also be recorded on 416-596-3101
Note:
- The Michener Institute is a smoke-free building.
- The use of latex gloves and balloons is prohibited at The Michener Institute.
