Remote Access to our Services
The Michener Institute Learning Resource Centre recognizes that many of our customers require access to services beyond traditional working hours and that some live outside of the Toronto area. We are pleased to offer many of our services and collections both on site after hours and by remote access.

Search our catalogue
Select the Catalogue tab to search for books and multimedia materials.
Search electronic journals and indexes
Select the E-Journals tab to search for journals by title (note: some titles are limited to authorized* users), or to search indexes by subject.
*students and staff with GroupWise accounts
Consult our user guides
Select the User Guides tab to find information on the resources available to support educational programs, and
to retrieve guides to using our electronic databases.

Ask a reference question
Telephone the LRC at (416) 596-3123 or 1 800 387-9066 or e-mail your question to lrc@michener.ca . During our working hours, we will answer your question immediately if possible or call you back if necessary. After hours please include your question, name and contact information, and we will reply on the next business day.
Borrow materials (eligible students, staff and members only)
Telephone or e-mail to request LRC materials. We will check them out to you, then leave them for you to pickup at the lobby reception desk evenings or weekends (bring your ID card). We can also send items to students or staff living within Canada but outside of Toronto.
Renew materials
Telephone or e-mail to request renewals. If during business hours we will confirm immediately; if after hours we will telephone or e-mail you back to confirm the renewal.
Order interlibrary loans (students and staff only)
Telephone or e-mail to request interlibrary loans of journal articles. We will mail or fax the articles to you (charges levied by the lending library may apply). Unfortunately interlibrary loans for books are not available for remote customers, due to limits on the length of borrowing periods.
Return materials
After hours please use the drop box located on the 2nd floor outside the LRC doors. Remote customers can return materials by courier or insured mail.
