Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards
Michener offers over $70,000 in scholarships, bursaries and awards, thanks to the generosity of our donors. These awards are available to all full-time students. Scholarships & Awards Committee selects the recipients in accordance to the award criteria listed below. Scholarships and Awards are presented to the winners at the annual Student Awards Ceremony held in the fall of each year.
Application Deadline: July 30, 2013 (unless otherwise stated)
Eligibility: The awards criteria are based on the current academic year. In the award charts,
- Year 1 = Completed semester 2 of program by July 30, 2013.
- Year 2 = Completed semester 4 of program by July 30, 2013.
- Year 3 = Completed semester 7 of program by July 30, 2013 .
- Graduating year = completed program and expect to graduate in June 30, 2013.
Nominations/letters of support: Where an award criteria requires a nomination and letters of support, the original nomination is not also considered a letter of support. The letters of support must come from other individuals who wish to support the nomination.

Bursaries are allocated on the basis of demonstrated financial need. Financial need is determined based on each of the following factors where applicable; student and parent/partner income, the number of dependents in the family, and the applicant's assets, including savings.
To be eligible for a bursary, applicants must
- be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada,
- have accumulated government student financial debt,
- have exhausted all OSAP opportunities/eligibility, and
- complete ALL sections of this bursary application form.
Awards are presented based on a combination of demonstrated financial need and criteria that reflect the values inherent to the Michener Institute including academic excellence, community involvement and leadership.

All awards listed on this website are based on the most recent information available at the time of publication. As new awards become available, they will be posted on this page. The value and availability of awards are subject to change at the discretion of both the donor and The Michener Institute.
Awards as Taxable Income
Awards are considered part of a student's taxable income for the year. Michener will issue T4A forms to all recipients by the end of February, reflecting the value of the awards issued in the previous calendar year.
Students in the Medical Radiation Sciences Program are eligible for awards offered by the University of Toronto. For more information visit the University of Toronto website.
The following scholarships are external to Michener and not administered by The Michener Institute. The deadlines for application may differ from those of Michener.
