Ontario Tuition Grant – Act by March 31, 2012
On January 5, 2012, the province of Ontario officially launched the NEW 30% off Ontario Tuition grant program to help reduce tuition for students and their families.
Students currently receiving OSAP will be automatically assessed. You will receive emails and status updates through the established OSAP channels and your grant will be delivered through direct deposit or cheque. The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities anticipates that OSAP students will receive their grant by late January or early February.
For eligible students NOT on OSAP, there is an online application. You will need to submit a completed application by March 31, 2012 in order to be considered for the January 2012 semester. You and/or your parents/caregivers will need to mail or fax a signed consent form to the province’s OSAP office in Thunder Bay. OSAP will verify family income with the federal government.
The new online application has been opened at http://ontario.ca/30offand information about the new program has been posted on the Ministry’s website at https://osap.gov.on.ca/OSAPPortal/en/PostsecondaryEducation/Tuition/index.htm, or call the toll-free hotline at 1-888-449-4478.
