Will I receive a Graduation package?

No. You will receive a 'Save-the-Date' postcard in late mid-June by mail at the address we have on file. The link provided will contain information around gown rentals, ticket forms, what to expect on Graduation day, etc.

 

I am a certicate program student. Will I receive my graduate certificate at the convocation?

Only the diplomas for the full-time programs will be given out at the ceremony. Graduate certificates will not be distributed or be available at the convocation. They are mailed throughout the year as students complete the program requirements. Please ensure that your address and contact information are current in our records. Any address changes must be forwarded immediately to the Student Enrolment Office by email: info@michener.ca.

 

What name appears on my diploma/certificate?

This will be the name that was used upon registration for your program and which is currently on your student record. For information on how to change your name in our records, please contact the Student Enrolment Office by email: NArora@michener.ca or CVillasenor@michener.ca by July 30th.

 

What fees are required?

Gown Rental Fee: $20.00 (Separate Cheque payable to The Michener Institute)

Gown and Academic Hood Deposit: $50.00 (Separate cheque please made payable to The Michener Institute. This cheque will be refundable upon the return of your gown and academic hood after the ceremony).

How many tickets am I allowed for friends and family?

Each graduate will be issued 2 tickets, please note the graduate does not need a ticket. Please visit the 'Extra Tickets' link to purchase any extra tickets.

The Toronto Centre for the Arts is conveniently located on the TTC Yonge subway line, (North York Centre or Sheppard stops) minutes away from Highway 401 and Yonge Street with convenient parking lots in the surrounding area.

What time does the reception begin?

The Alumni Reception begins at 10AM in the lobby of Toronto Centre for the Arts. Your guests will be at the reception as you are being gowned. There will be time for you to join your guests afterwards.

What time does the ceremony begin?

The ceremony will take place in the George Weston Recital Hall - Toronto Centre for the Arts - at 11:30AM. The graduation ceremony is expected to last for approximately 1 1/2 hours.

Where do I pick up my gown and hood?

Please note your guests will enter through the Main Entrance of the facilities. You as a graduate are considered a “performer” and you MUST enter through the Stage Door.  Your name will be on a list and after signing in you will be directed to the Rehearsal Hall where you will be gowned.  You will meet your guests in the lobby afterwards.  They will NOT be permitted to enter the Stage Door.

All graduates will be lined up in alphabetical order by 11:00AM sharp.
