International Documents
All transcripts should be submitted in English, well in advance of the application deadline in order to allow sufficient time for processing. If supporting documents have been translated, the original documents or certified true copies of the original documents must be submitted with the translation.
Credential Assessment
All students must have the full academic equivalent of the individual program admission requirements. Michener does not have an assessment service, but accepts assessments by:
- International Credential Assessment Service (ICAS) (1-800-321-6021)
- World Education Services (WES) (416-972-0070 or 1-866-343-0070).
- Other credential services may also be accepted. Please contact the Office of the Registrar and Student Enrolment before using any other Credential Assessment Service.
Please be aware that applicants applying to one of Michener's Graduate programs must have a full Course By Course or Comprehensive evaluation of their transcripts. A document-to-document evaluation is not sufficient. Documents must be evaluated to Canadian standards. Please note that WES does not do a course by course evaluation of High School documents.
Study Permit / Visa Requirements
International students are required to have a student visa, issued by Immigration Canada, prior to entering Canada. Study Permits are generally issued for the full length of your program. If you are currently studying in Canada on a Study Permit at another educational institution, you may need to transfer your Study Permit to The Michener Institute. Don't delay! We encourage you to apply as soon as possible. For specific details, contact your nearest Canadian Embassy. If you have more questions about immigration requirements, visit Immigration Canada's Web site http://www.cic.gc.ca
