Clients will be assessed for their English language skills and for their knowledge specific to Medical Laboratory Sciences. This will provide the program with the opportunity to establish a starting point for the clients and to provide the clients with feedback regarding course selection and exam readiness. Clients will be provided with an appointment time for an English language interview.

This course is focused on preparing clients for their Competency-based Certification Examinations and for working in the Canadian health care system.
The course format includes lectures, group discussions and practical application. Topics covered include:

This course will use a case study approach to review general principles and the five traditional medical laboratory technology disciplines. Safe work practices and quality practices will also be covered. The course format includes lectures and group discussions. Practice tests using competency based multiple choice questions will be a major focus of the review.

This 300 hours of “simulated clinical experience” refresher course is approved by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
This course will also be offered on a part-time basis in the fall of 2006 / winter of 2007, with registration offered for individual disciplines. Classes take place from 1800 to 2100 hours on Thursday and Friday evenings, from 0900 – 1700 hours on Saturdays and from 1000 – 1800 hours on Sundays. Sixty hours of simulated supervised Canadian work experience will be provided in each course.
