HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR THE 2011-2012 ACADEMIC YEAR

ALL Michener First Year Students must provide proof that they have fulfilled the below four Health Requirements before August 30.

Please Note: All immunizations and blood tests must be completed by your Health Care Provider. These services are not provided at the Michener Institute.

Please start the Health Requirements process immediately, be proactive in completing your Health Requirements, and submit requirements as you fulfill them. KEEP ORIGINALS for your own records and submit copies only of all requirements to:

Students must ensure that all their health requirements are current prior to starting their first year and clinical placements. Students who fail to meet these responsibilities will face ramifications under provisions of the Standards of Professional Behaviour as referenced on the Michener intranet, my.michener.ca, under academic departmental policies.

Please Note: Mandatory Mask Fitting Requirement

All new students should be aware that they will be required to have a mandatory N95 mask fitting prior to commencing their clinical training. N95 masks are fitted masks with an adequate mask-to-face seal to ensure the student’s health and safety from infectious diseases. The N95 mask fitting is an infection control requirement of all clinical placement agencies. Each person must be individually fitted to determine which brands of N95 masks provide adequate protection against airborne particles. This may require the removal of facial hair in order to allow for the adequate mask-to-face seal. The mask fit sessions for full time students will be arranged by your program and the health nurse.
